OPEN READING PERIOD

It's hard to believe that we've not updated our site in eight months! We've been busy moving away from Florida and back to Denver, which feels right for us.
Here's the news:
Astrophil Press will hold its first open reading period! We will read manuscripts between September 1st and November 1st. We will read book length manuscripts of literary fiction, short story collections, non-fiction, poetry, and hybrid works. Please keep in mind what we publish so that you don't waste your time submitting books about spices or hard science fiction. Although we love spices and the occasional science fiction read, it's simply not what we publish here.
Reading Fees: because we have a very small staff of readers and because (let's face it) many of the people who inquire about publishing with us don't own a copy of our publications, we will have a 20.00 reading fee for each entry. You may submit as many manuscripts as you like, but each manuscript will require a reading fee.
We really didn't want to do a reading fee, but as the economy seems to remain sluggish, more and more small presses have had to turn to this practice to stay afloat. We will open our submissions page with relevant information in September. All submissions must be electronic.
If you should have any questions, please contact us through our contact page.
Kindest Regards,
duncan
