Happy Holidays

The chill is in the air and even Florida has seen some frost. I've been staying warm with some great books this holiday season and I hope you've been doing the same.
We've got some updates and good news for you.
Brian Evenson's book is underway. It's been a slow going process considering both he and the members of Astrophil Press are teachers. However, fret not, the book is nearly ready to print. It's in book form and just going through some edits and page checks before we print it at the start of 2011. This means that those of you who pledged money will receive your packages within a month or so.
Ellen Welcker's book THE BOTANICAL GARDEN is doing very well. I highly suggest picking up a copy because it's a captivating book. We've sent it out for review and we should have some of those reviews posted soon. If you write for a magazine, please drop us a line so that Dale can send you a review copy!
We've sold out of David Gruber's SLEEPERS' REPUBLIC. There are about 17 left at SPDBOOKS.ORG if you'd still like to get your hands on a first pressing. We'll go into a second pressing soon.
I will soon publish a regular feature article called "Lead and Stitch" on SEENALLOVER.COM, which is a great popular culture website. My article will look at independent presses and writers. I will also review and discuss custom printed books. My first article is a review of Interbirth Book's release of Christian Peet's PLUTO: NEVER FORGET. If you haven't bookmarked them yet, please do. I expect to see some exciting things from them.
Future releases: After CONTAGION, we will release a book by poet Mark Tursi, and we will will publish several of our books as ebooks. Considering our main goal as a press is to publish book objects, we don't have a strong interest in ebooks; however, some of our authors have expressed interest in them, so we will publish select titles in the ebook format. The press who published my first novel SUPER CELL ANEMIA, has closed its doors, so we will publish a limited edition repressing of the novel and then release it as an ebook. I do not want to spend valuable resources publishing my books, so this repressing, although requested by readers, is very low on my priority list.
Please enjoy your holiday season and thank you for your continued support.
