Good morning everyone! It's a sunny and warm Monday here at Astrophil Press headquarters and we are proud to announce our first book prize. We've worked hard to piece together a contest that was fair an appealing to new, interesting poets. We understand the difficulty in having a poetry manuscript published in this age, so we are doing our part to find a new talented writer and give said writer the opportunity to have their manuscript published and sold world wide. Please visit our contest page to enter. We promise that our readers will read and seriously consider all who enter.
Please let all your friends know; we are eager to read everyone's work!

_________________________________________________________
The purpose of this prize is to make available a book of poetry from a new and exciting writer. We encourage all manner of poetry, but have particular interest in work that is adventurous, playful, insightful, and pushes boundaries of convention.
The prize of a published book with distribution will be awarded in 2010 (publication of the book in the same year). The author will receive a standard contract with Astrophil Press, 50 copies, and royalties.
The prize is open to any writer in English who has not published a first or second book-length collection of poems. Poems previously published in periodicals may be included in the manuscript. All submissions must be original work. The editors of Astrophil Press will screen manuscripts for the judge. All judging will be done blindly.
GUIDELINES :
Submissions will be accepted from October 1st 2009 - January 1st 2010.
The winning author and all other entrants will be notified by March 31, 2010. We will publish the names of the winner and all finalists on the Astrophil Press website.
You may simultaneously submit your manuscript elsewhere, but please notify us immediately if it is accepted for publication. Submission of more than one manuscript is permissible; each must be under separate cover with a fee. We will email you upon receipt of payment and manuscript.
